Passion is noticing every single thing around you, feeling it and then acting on that gift because you cannot help yourself.

We all must decide on our own passions and relentlessly march toward them. March forward towards the grim reaper and those drawings that seem too much at times.

IT IS A GIFT

Passion is emotion felt deeply.

Sometimes it almost feels like too much like grim reaper artwork and I would love to run from it. I would at times be Humpty Dumpty fallen from the wall. I can't. It is the overwhelming presence of something you simply cannot control. As an artist painting emotions, fairies illustrations or beautiful women it often feels like drowning.

When I find that space that gives me the satisfaction of meeting my goal, finding that glint in the eye or just a simple highlight somewhere in the painting and it all feels worth it... to feel too much.
One of my daughters was pledging for a sorority once. You know how that goes? If not, you have known rejection I am sure at least once?
Girls go to different houses and some get invites back. Some... get no invites back at all. Ah yes a real grim reaper artwork, an illustration.
I told a friend about this once and I just began crying because I could not get those girls without a single invitation out of my mind and heart. She asked why I had to feel things so deeply. I just kept crying. I would be Humpty Dumpty fallen no matter that it only be a drawing.
I know why though. I feel things deeply because I want to.
It is a decision to feel life and know that there is more than you in it.
It is picking up a single leaf and seeing the intricacy of it. It is knowing that if that leaf is that special as to have curves and veins and sometimes a tinge of color from the flower that might emerge to bring fruit, then wow... look at our own selves.
I am overwhelmed if I choose to be, I do it seems.
I do try to notice the young girl without an invitation in this fairies illustration and much more than that. I notice because my heart is open to feeling things with passion and I think that is the artists way.
Yes, it is difficult because it you notice the young woman without an invite you must also recognize the bigger picture like Darfur and suffering. It can become overwhelming.
As an artist or poet or anything that draws strong feelings passion is always a gift.
